So, what happened with 1.4 and what's next?

Today, it's been little over a year since Cirrus 1.3 was released. Before I started on Cirrus, I already had ~200 hours on RPG Maker MV experimenting with prototype after prototype.

And finally after my last failed game project which never saw any resemblance of light, and my dream game hitting a brick wall, I took a break and cleared my head. I reused the title for the game, and I came up with this.

Cirrus is an RPG Maker game about a young girl who's disabled. You wonder through her subconscious and through three alternate endings you decide how she copes with her disability. Of course of those endings, there was going to be a fourth. It was even promised in the 1.2 update.

Before I can explain what it was going to be, I have to give some context.

I have never played an RPG game before. At least, not before buying RPG Maker MV. Nuts, I know. But Ive always wanted to make games, and with RPG maker, it seemed to me that it was easier said than done. 230 hours later, I know now that my thought process was flawed.

However my desire to grow and built games has not faltered, and certainly hasn't peaked, not just yet.

And so, with that, after I finally finished finalizing the changes I made within 1.3 (dialogue, adding shadows, hints, and of course fixing the UI) ((I think)) I wanted to tackle a boss battle. Easier said than done, right? Right?

Haha, no! I didn't understand anything, and I was certainly not willing to learn since I had already worked my ass off for 1.3 AND the log file corrupted half way through so I lost all the 1.3 documentation I did anyways, I just gave up.

I gave up.

But I didn't lose my determination.

The boss battle was going to be in multiple parts.

The first part was going to be with a bully.

The second I completely forget

The third with you.

And after the fight, you awaken in the real world.

I got this far, I made the map (which was an edit of the mansion you go through at the familiar place chapter) and I wrote all the dialogue and story that went along with it.

Now of course the lack of knowledge on how to make a boss was already a pretty heavy burden on me, and then the final straw was the fact the sprite sheet I had downloaded did not work with MV. It was the only good wheelchair sheet I've found, and it would take a FURTHER century to fix it and edit Darling over the person in the chair so...

It's a shame, but it is what it is.

I won't say the finer details because I have plans.

I want to be ambitious as possible with this, but in short I want to include Cirrus in a bigger scope project. Currently the only FOR SURE thing I got is the fact that I want to make a demake of Cirrus that makes everything from the ground up with an earlier version of RPG Maker. All original sprites, maybe even code.

Why? Cuz I think that's funny. A demake that's better than the original? Fucking hilarious dude.
